The Malhotra Block houses the two senior most classes of the school. The building is named after General O.P. Malhotra who had laid the foundation stone in 1979 and also inaugurated the building in 1981. Every student who enters the portals of Army Public School Dhaula Kuan looks forward to walking the corridors of the Malhotra Block some day with great pride. The Malhotra Block has been a witness to thousands of students passing out from school to become defense personnel, engineers, doctors, lawyers, media personalities, national and international players and the like.
The Malhotra Block has 22 class rooms and 3 lecture rooms. It also has separate subject rooms for Science, Computer Science, Commerce and Humanities. These rooms are well equipped with a projector and a screen to facilitate technology-aided learning. The Malhotra Block also has dedicated labs for Classes XI and XII including labs for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology which have state of the art equipment designed to satiate the inherent curiosity of the students. Further, the well furnished Home Science lab provides all the facilities for cooking with/without fire to the budding chefs. All the labs are equipped with first aid facilities and fire extinguishers.
The computerized and air-conditioned library caters to the requirements of students of Class X, XI and XII. It has a collection of around 12,000 books which include latest fiction, reference books, magazines and journals and books for various competitive exams like NEET, JEE, NDA etc. The Library is Wi-Fi enabled and students can access e-books. A photocopying facility is also available in the Library.
The Art room with all the relevant resources provides a unique learning experience. It serves as a space to foster the creativity and originality in the budding artists as they are exposed to a wide range of resources, techniques and art forms.
Safety of the students is paramount. The blue print of the building, possible escape routes for handling any emergency and fire extinguishers are placed at strategic points in the building. The building is also under CCTV surveillance.
