Army Public School was one of the premier institutions to introduce Computer education for students in 1986. The Computer Club "GENESIS" was formed in 1987. At that time when most schools were yet to start computer education , Genesis was organising an Annual Inter School Computer Competition - 'CYBERNETICA'. Students from many schools of Delhi participated in the competitions. The computer competitions are now held as part of the School Festival ' TAPS FEST '. Events such as C++ Programming, Web Designing amongst others are eagerly contested by a large number of students from leading schools of Delhi. us inter and intra school competitions and win accolades.

Genesis is a platform where the students really interested in computers - the computer geeks - get together to enhance their knowledge and ability in a healthy competitive environment . The club has grown over the years under the leadership of its student office bearers and has won many laurels in inter-school competitions . In future also the Genesis members are sure to lead their club to greater heights of excellence in computer learning.

The Debating Society of the school was established to bring together students interested in public speaking and debating . Regular interaction amongst the members and active participation in inter and intra school competitions help the students to grow into confident and accomplished speakers. The various honors won by the members are a testimony to the fact that the Debating Society of APS is indeed helping the students to polish their oratory skills and excel in public speaking. The teacher-in-charge motivates the club members to achieve higher levels of excellence in English debating.

The Department of Environment , Govt. of Delhi selected Army Public School for the purpose of setting up the Eco Club . The main emphasis of the club has been on the following activities :

Sensitising the students to minimize the use of plastics/polythene bags and proper disposal of these non biodegradable bags . Creating awareness about the harmful effects of air and noise pollution. Motivating the students to imbibe the habits and life style for minimum waste generation.

The students of the club have won various prizes in interschool competitions on environment issues. The students are thus doing their best in promoting a healthier lifestyle as well as contributing their bit in making the world a better place to live in.
