National Cadet Corps

NCC (National Cadet Corps) is a national organization which has helped in inculcation in the cadets a spirit of courage, confidence, self-reliance, selfless service, a feeling of patriotism, faith in oneself, power of thought and adjustment which are essential to make the youth disciplined and dutiful.

Thereis BoysDivision ( Senior Division and Junior Division) as well as Girls Wing ( Junior Wing)

NCC Senior Division of Boys has52 NCC cadets and Junior Division has 100 cadets. For senior Division students of Class XI and XII are enrolled whereas for NCC Junior Division Boys of class 8 & 9 students are enrolled. Both the divisions are under the unit 7DBN NCC. Enrollment in Junior Division takes place generally in the month of Aprilwhereas for Senior Division the enrollment takes place generally in the month of July every year.

NCC( Junior Wing Girls) Army wing of Army Public School is attached to 4 Delhi Girls Bn NCC, New Delhi . Our authorized enrolment strength is 100 cadets . Our CO at present is Col VIRENDRA SINGH.

Army Public School is committed towards social and national responsibilities; bearing this in mind we have raised the NCC Army wing and in our school for the girls for their allround development. Our School believes that, an individual will come to possess an adoring personality only by involving himself or herself in activities like NCC, NSS etc. The NCC programme provides ample opportunities to the cadets by way of conducting centerlised camps, shooting practice , drill practices, personality development and voluntary service programmes. The mission and vision of our NCC wing is to create awareness among the student community regarding its importance towards nation building. The girl cadets of our School are doing extremely well in centrally organized camps and other all India camps. Associate NCC Officer II Officer Madhu Mrinal Mohan is coordinating the activities of NCC at Army Public School. She was awarded the prestigious Defence Secretary Commendation for her contribution towards NCC organization for the year 2013-14.

Advantages of NCC to Cadets

  • Develop qualities like social service, team spirit, leadership, discipline and self confidence.
  • 32 seats are reserved per course in the IMA for cadets who have passed NCC `C` certificate examination. NCC cadets having 50% aggregate marks in graduation with minimum `B` grade in `C` certificate examination are eligible for short service commission( NCC special entry scheme) without qualifying CDS written examination. They face direct SSB interview.
  • Central and state governments also give priority in job for NCC trained students.
